Josie and the Hidden Truth

I have recently read The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux.  As it turns out, Christine, Erik, Raoul, and Philippe, were all real people.  The story actually happened.  What everyone thought was that the Opera Ghost died down in his cell, Christine was never found, and Raoul had killed his older brother out of envy, jealousy, and madness.  Well, M. Leroux found out the truth, how their stories were entertwined and proposed the story to the police.  They laughed at him.  So, he wrote a book.  Philippe was really killed by Erik, and he almost killed Raoul, until Christine stopped him (yes, he did kidnap her), but Christine and Raoul were never found because they ran away to Scandanavia.  Erik, however, escaped (he didn't die), but his friend's friends found a body washed up on the bank of a river that they identified as Erik's.  He was partially pecked at by birds, however, but everyone dies, but overall, it ended happily ever after.  That was a great story.
